matek
Crazy good sessions! Yeah, that concrete nail is not a hard bend if you can get it started. But looks good
Viking
Friday - Sunday Nov 11-13th Huge volume weekend of big bends. Not on the best recovery so some of the maximal efforts didn't pan out, but was able to pull through with a ton of work. Photo and videos below. Bends: 60d warmup 8.5mm x 5" 'soft' CRS Huge Bastard *video* 8.3mm x 6" SS400 CRS *video* 3/8 x 7" 'Everbilt' CRS 60d warmup A2 bolt (5/16 x 7" stainless) Double 40d nails 3/8 x 7" 'Everbilt' CRS (2) Shiny Bastards *crush only* Kinks: cut 10" galv spike to 7" x ~3/8" (2) Horrido 8.8 bolts from a wobble (5/16 x 7") Big Hexabastard (5/16 x 6.5" hex CRS) Nibelungen bolt (5/16 x 6" grade 8.8) *video* JH Edgin bolt (5/16 x 7" grade 5) Almost... 8mm x 7" C45 CRS 8.4mm x 7" stainless (only to 45 deg, the rest braced) 10mm x 7" brass (from 90 deg)
Viking
Friday - Sunday, Nov 18-20th Focused on recovery all week leading into this weekend getting a solid 8 hrs of sleep per night. Felt recovered by Wednesday and should have done a little bending then because by Friday my technique was a bit sloppy for the first few bends, which included the effort at the 8.8. Also should have recorded some of the other bends, but I didn't expect them to be so successful! Alex sent me a bunch of bars for winning the Racing Reds challenge (bend two Red Nails as fast as possible, 32s was my time) including the Hexabastard Medley which I will attempt soon. 60s warmup Shiny Bastard (5/16 x 7" FBBC stainless) ~very smooth effort Grand Bastard (5/16 x 5.5" CRS) ~crush bound up and I deferred from crushing it fully Duke of All Bastards ~stuck at sweep... again! 5/16 x 6" JDF 8.8 bolt ~very off center Horrido 8.8 bolt ~got it to 2.5" on Friday, finished it off Saturday 10mm x 7" DHWOG 320k @ 6" bar ~bend radius!!! 3/8 x 7.5" 'Everbilt' CRS 8mm x 7" DHWOG 233k @ 6" bar 10mm x 8" brass hex from Japan Super maximal weekend. Very happy to complete the black 8.8 and now it's time to get it under 5 mins. The 10mm DHWOG bar was hilarious - I did not expect it to bend so easily so I didn't bother recording and I did it late Saturday as one of the last bends. Once it got past the sweep it bound up extremely hard and I couldn't get it further. Stuck at about 2.5". Might try and finish it next week as my hand is wrecked from the crush on the 8.8 The 10mm brass hex was much easier than I expected and again I failed to record it. Crush bound up as expected but not enough to prevent a complete bend! Very fun weekend!

Viking
So I'm not very good at keeping updated on my training here but it has been persistent and successful. Shifted from doing massive volume weekends to a few hard bends on a more daily basis, inspired by an experiment Jan did by bending an 8.8 each day for a week. It took me a couple weeks to recover sufficiently from the major crush effort on the 8.8 and other bends last month. Also was travelling for the better part of a week and intended to go for a cert bend once I got back and settled. Success. Friday Dec 16th Feeling good mentally and physically. Two warmups without crush. All bends in large suede/leather, "Howitzer wraps" as I call them. 8" galv spike cut to 7" 7 x 3/8" 'Everbilt' weak CRS Horrido 8.8 bolt cert bend ~Success! 1:20 bend time! video below Nibelungen bolt ~got stuck at 7.5cm Horrido 8.8 bolt @ 6.5" ~got stuck at 7.5cm kinked Triangle Edgin bolt ~got stuck at 7.5cm wobbled Horrido 8.8 bolt ~got stuck at 7.5cm Obvious sticking point in the crush, but now I have a ton of iso bars!

Viking
Will try to keep training updated here as I pursue the Kings of CRS competition that finishes around October. devinhoo
Hex bars only get worse after the kink. You'll be back for it next time. I should pick some of that stuff up, looks like it's on sale right now too. Been meaning to look at other places to buy steel.

Viking
I have made a number of changes to my bending. Primary focus is big wrap DU bends. I've adapted my DO technique to DU and have since completed a number of bends including... FBBC Duke, 9mm x 7" CRS, 8.4mm x 8" stainless, Gofannon bar, Nibelungen bolt and Nanook bolt. Much more could be said but I've begun recording my entire bending sessions and posted them to YouTube. If you'd like to follow along as I go through the 2 hour bend sessions I have done on each of the past Sundays, see below. I intend to continue to record and post my sessions for documentation and entertainment. Enjoy!

Viking
I've been really slow at updating here. Insta and YouTube are enough! Still doing the major bend sessions and putting them on YT. Bent a Nbelungen, Nanook, Huge Duke, various Edgin bolts... and cert on a Horrido 8.8 at 5.5" to tie Josh for first place on the leaderboard. All DU bends. I'll post a couple..

Viking
Last week's session. Added time stamps/chapters to make it easy to find the bends in a 2.5 hour video. Main highlights were getting the Big G8 bend and a Japanese equivalent KOAB. Also did a back-to-back cert for ECGB: 1/3 x 7.5" O-1 drill rod DU and DO. Lots of drill rod bends incoming as prep for Ace.

First thought was S6, but the pickguard looked a little different. Ive got the Mahogany S6, scored it for $220 new. I've tried liking it but it doesn't do much for me, wish i had the cedar one instead. Seagulls in general are amazing guitars.
