Roch Climber
Quick question cause i can't find any reliable information. Which muscles does a gripper work ? To be more specific does it work the flexor digitorum profondus as you don't use your distal phalange much ?
Aleksandar Milosevic
You use your distal phalanges while using a gripper a lot depending on your hand size. And yes, the activation of the flexor digitorum profundus is at a very high %.

wobbler
Do a long hold with a gripper a little below your max, and you can feel for yourself. Usually don't get much of a pump or DOMS from doing reps with grippers, but holds can do the trick.
