I'd be curious to hear from those that have tried it also.

It's an interesting progression, but I feel to make progress on fat bar/handle related items, it takes additional work to train thumb, wrist, as well as open hand time under tension. Laine Snook also had a program he had discussed on the IM forum a year or two back.

I just completed a 12 wk 5,3,1 program on the rolling thunder which I performed 2x per week. The only other assistance work I did was hub or 2HP and plate curl with some light gripper closes to finish off the session. Also regular full body strength training in the gym.

Anyway I suck at RT so I diligently worked through it but only ended up adding 10lb to my 1 rm. Being that I've never trained the RT before I thought that wasn't a huge success. Especially when my numbers were really low to begin with 110lb - 120lb (weight plates only). I really feel that my hand size being so, so small really challenges me on this lift. I find it really difficult, maybe that's why I've enjoyed doing it the last few months. My hands are definitely stronger for doing it which is what it's all about.

I'm going to try this program starting next week and I'll see what happens. I'll post my results.

Thanks for sharing!
