Mike Sharkey
Its a really great feeling to pull 400+ pounds off the ground. Difference between the boys and the girls I'm sure 440 will happen this summer

ironwarrior
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UofC6TbLlR8# Over/under grip. I probably was in my late 20's the last time I pulled over 400#.. Pretty happy with this lift.. And you have every reason to be happy, nice pull ! Just a word of advice, IMO it looks like you pull a tad too much with your arms. Try flexing the triceps, and staying tight, let the upper back, lats, and glute/hams do the bulk of the work. The arms should just act as 'chains', an extention from the shoulders. This should also save you a half inch or more of distance pulled, as well as preventing any bicep injuries. You look like you've worked hard to build those impressive arms, may as well keep'em healthy! David, with focused training 500 is definitely a possibility for you... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=awxy-Ztsa4U# Edited May 6, 2014 by ironwarrior
David Mitti
Iron Warrior, Thanks for taking a look. Yeah I have been told that about my arms not being straight, I think it just force of habit. It will be hard to break beings that's always how I've pulled, always trained by myself so never got critiqued early on. Appreciate your thoughts tho.. Awesome Pull by the way!!
Buccos1
Awesome! Keep it going and you'll be at 440 soon. Then on and up! Thanks Carl! We will see what happens, I think 440 is doable... I have no doubt you'll get there, especially with the way you target things. I remember when I was trying to climb up from 405 (which was a big goal of mine at one time) and it was very slow progress over several months to go from 405 to 455. When 500 was in sight, the afterburners clicked and it was a different mindset. Kill it man!

I never really thought of trying for 500 but I'm sure if I hit 440/450 it will be in my head to make a run for it.. It would be awesome to be able to pull the big 500# one day!!!
