That's a very good start in the 1HP. Interesting that you use a much wider width for the 1HP. You might well be better in the 1HP relatively speaking if you put in some training time. I have found I can do much more volume in the 1HP than in the 2HP. Less taxing on the CNS I think.

Did some maxing out tonight to reset numbers.

4/6/2015

Paused Bench - 5x 70.4Kg, 3x 100.4Kg, 1x 120.4Kg, 1x 130.4Kg, 1x 140.4Kg, 1x 145.4Kg (320.55#) Last one went up slow, all were at least 1sec pause on chest.

Seated Unsupported Militarty Press - 1x 70.4Kg, 1x 80.4Kg, 1x 82.9Kg (182.76#)

1HP Euro RH only - 58mm - 1x 45.8Kg

64mm -> 0x 46.23Kg, 46.23Kg Neg, 1x 46.23Kg, 1x 47.23Kg, 1x 47.23Kg, 1x 48.73Kg, 0x 49.13Kg (3in lift) - All to normal 2HP crossbar standard

Was testing the 1HP really for the first time as I've never really trained it on the Euro. Very happy with the Bench and MP results after only 2 months training them.

320# bench after only training 2 months? Holy crap!

Not the first time in my life doing bench. Just was about 18months of not doing it before starting again due to shoulder issue. I stopped benching regularly in my mid 20's and had a pretty decent bench at that point. I took 9 yrs off from lifting at that point and since then have trained it off and on but I don't think ever more than 4 or 5 months straight. Best lift in that time was a 375# touch and go Bench in a Push/pull comp 2yrs ago. Really hopeful to get back up above 400# again before the end of the year and before I get too old and broken to do it again.

Never done it really with the Euro so I need to test the other widths 1H still. the 64mm is pretty close to my favorite pair of 45# plates pinch width at 2 5/8" or ~66mm so not a big surprise there. I had done the pair plus 20# magneted on when I was training it maybe 5 yrs back. I may play with this lift some, haven't decided yet if it will help my goals or not.

Can you pinch 4x10 with the green Eleiko plates? You should give it a try, given how much you did at 64mm.

I am very close. It is wide for me and not at a optimal width as well as pretty slick still. I can get them about half way to lockout even so as well as hold at the top a few seconds if I assist on the way up. That is a goal for this year as well as a pair of the Eleiko 25Kg plates pinch.

The thing I like about these Eleiko plates is the consistency in quality. With generic brands its very hard to evaluate difficulty.

What about 3x15k with the Eleiko plates?

I agree. An Eleiko of a certain size is always going to be that exact width, diameter and weight. Also they are beautiful which is a bonus. :)

My 2HP euro looks so much better with 8x 10Kg Eleiko's on it than it did with a bunch of mismatched 25's.

Needless to say as a Swede I am a bit biased but yes they do look good on the Euro pinch. I know Martin Arildsson bought a mother load of them for the upcoming LGC grip competition in July (on independence day!).

Okay, I recall Juha indicating 3x15k was a fraction easier than 4x10. I think both Timo Lauttamus and Matti Heiskanen pulled 3x15k but missed 4x10k (Timo very narrowly so and that was with the 95mm wide Leoko plates).

Cool.

A couple years back I bought a comp set. Spent more than $3K with Freight costs from what I remember. Have 4x 25Kg, 2x 20Kg, 2x 15Kg, 8x 10Kg, 2x 5Kg, 2x 2.5Kg, 2x 1.25Kg, 4x 0.5Kg, and 2x 0.25Kg. Needless to say I almost never use any of my other cast iron plates anymore except the occasional hubbing. But my new hubbing setup works with the Eleikos as well so using those even less.

Seems like from a width perspective that 3x 15Kg Eleiko's would be more optimal for me than the 4x 10Kg plates as well. Likely to be awhile before I can justify spending the money on another one though.

James Retarides, made the trek down to Tucson yesterday for a training session while he and his family are in state on vacation. Was nice to meet him and talk training as well as play with the toys a bit. I didn't write anything down as it was not a planned workout and still a bit sore from contest and earlier training in the week. Prolly talked for a couple hours.

Some highlights though were bunch of different gripper closes up to 176# Adjustable mount BBSE we used at the comp. Did some hub hand to hand work and flip catches, Some Inch DB attempts and Negs, etc.

Did a bit of 1HP on Sunday. Going to shift some the training protocols and exercises a bit for this training cycle since there is no comp on the horizon. Going to shift primary pinch focus to 1HP and chase that 2-25Kg pinch lift. Adjusted Euro width down from last session to 54mm a weaker width for me but is about the same as the actual width of a pair of Elieko 25Kg plates. Gripper protocol changing too to minirep system for next cycle.

Thanks Martin! Definitely doing better. Still about 10% strength wise below my bests on grip events I'm currently training and tracking. But that is within striking distance. :shuriken::mosher

Closer to 20% below where I was 3 yrs ago on stuff like Bench and overhead press. But I hope to gain that ground quickly.
