EricMilfeld
Looking Strong Eric!! Thanks, David! I felt good. Not much in the way of post-contest weariness. I attribute this to the excitement of knowing I'll be competing again in a month.

It's a close grip to reduce pec involvement.
climber511
32 years of consistent strength training. The next time someone says they have been stuck on the same level for 3 whole weeks, what should I do - think about what Eric has achieved and the time frame involved. Quite an accomplishment Eric - certainly something you can take pride in.
EricMilfeld
Thank you, Chris! Spoken by you, of all people, that's quite a compliment.
EricMilfeld
Had to edit the title. Lol. I remembered requesting and receiving concrete plates to squat with for Christmas of 1981. I had already been training for several months with what little weight I had. So 33 years! My grandfather heard from my mom about my request and surprised me with the plates. They were two pairs of 22 pound plates, which I thought were immense!
EricMilfeld
I made a loadable block to train the "plate curl" event to be held at Nationals. It's 2 1/8" thick and measures 6" from the top of the wooden block to the portion of the pipe loading pin where the plates butt up. So, it should feel very similar to the actual implement at Nationals. Pinch Block Curls Right: 31.8 Left: 30.8 I kept my butt, back, and head against the wall as I performed the movement.

EricMilfeld
Huge farmers lift Eric! What do you deadlift on a regular bar? Thank you, Jeff! Deads of any kind have always been my pet lifts. My best contest pulls: 165 class - 562, 181 class - 617. Currently I could maybe pull 550 if I devoted a month or two to training regular deadlifts.
