EricMilfeld Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 He didn't even need to go into full-on strongman technique mode on the second lift. I bet he could pull an IPF legal 950 single right now. Quote

Stephen Ruby Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 (edited) Top strongman are easily the strongest men on the planet no question. I think if several of the top guys just casually trained for a powerlifting meet they would dominate everyone. I was also impressed at how low he could get at the start I am at least 2 inches shorter and 100lbs+ lighter and I struggle to get into a good starting position. I think he is good for well over mid 900 like others have said. Edited June 24, 2013 by Stephen Ruby Quote Current stats Height 6'8 Hand length from first wrist crease to top of middle finger 8.15 inches Hand width thumb to pinky 9.4 inches Fist size around 11.5 inches Forearm size (straight flexed) roughly 16.5 inches Wrist size 8.2 inches

underdawg Posted June 25, 2013 Posted June 25, 2013 When the WSM was at Wingate a couple of years ago I got to get pretty close to several of these guys during lunch. I've been around a lot of really big men in my life, but I've never seen a mountain of a man like Shaw. I felt like an elementary school-aged kid.
