bwwm
There can also be characteristics of the particular blobs that make them harder to lift. Daniel took a look at mine in Tucson, and apparently mine has less of a ridge on the thumb side, and the finger side is more uniform than his. Also, seasoning plays a lot into blob lifting as well. Jedd Johnson
Regarding hand size, the thing that a lot of you may be overlooking is the ability to do what I call a "180." A "180" is a flat or nearly flat line made with your pinky an thumb. Notice how there is almost a straight line from the tip of the thumb to the tip of the pinky in Daniel's case. This is a huge asset to Blob lifting, the ability of the thumb to toally abduct from the hand like that is huge. I too can do this. It is genetic. My daughter can go beyond 180. She has hands like me, not her mom. In the opposite area is Chris Rice. His hand can't come anywhere near a 180. This drastically hinders your ability to do well on Blobs/Blocks and it makes it darn near impossible to face lift a blob.

Thanks for the tips Jedd, I never thought about the 180 and the range of the thumb. I can see why your one of the best in the world at these feats...well at least now I know
