mike60975
Hi guys, I was wondering if milled plates were appropriate for pinch gripping, or does the milling process roughen the surface too much and make them eaiser to lift? Thanks
daniel reinard
I've heard of that, especially on the lip if the plates don't fit together well. I've seen some milled on the outside. I would assume it makes it a little easier just because it'll be clean metal instead of a rusty or painted surface, maybe rougher too. To each their own really, it's all for training purposes. If it's too easy put on a coat of paint.
brujeria
I think it is only good if surface is little rough and holds chalk well. No need for playing with warm hands etc.
climber511
I have all kinds of plates including mill backs - mine at least are harder than my standard "Barbell" and most other brands - just slick is all. But I'm sure they vary as much as anything else. Use them enough and I imagine they would season up some.
