Importance Of Grip Balancing?

How important is it to use, for example, 'expand your hand' bands to work the extensors for gripper training?

Also, are there any other things one must do to balance out there gripping to stop injury or overdevelopment?

There are many ways to train extensors. The purpose is so that the flexors (closes the hand), doesn't interfere with the ability of the extensors (opens the hand). So an impossibly extreme scenario to make a point, say the flexor muscles were so strong vs the extensors that the hand couldn't even open and was permanently balled into a fist. I dont fully understand why but if you neglect extensor work then you'll end up with a lot of pain all the way up to the elbow. Something about how the connective tissue crosses the joints.
