Cannon Posted May 25, 2011 Share Posted May 25, 2011 1) They are relatable feats of strength. Most people are familiar with a deck of cards or a phonebook. So if you can tear it in half for them, it speaks to them more than "hey, watch me close this gripper." 2) You need to train grippers to be good at grippers. I don't believe that for a min., testing phonebooks is more technique and less handstrength. Like most lifting with good technique you can lift or pull much much more than a real strong guy that dosent understand how trio do it the correct way. I like training for overall strengh.
