Interesting, what do you mean by timed holds, i know what it is for say a pinch grip, how would you hold it on a plate curl? sorry for the noobish comment, im new to the game i apologize. Bearcat 74
Pull it up so that the plate is parallel to the ground and let go with the free hand, these are good for weights that are in the heavy range. Either a weight you are close to but just can't hardly get or weights that are in the 1-3 rep range. I may do say 1 rep with a heavier weight and then finish that set with a hold. BigJan85
I found doing many sets in the 1-3 rep range helped me progress the most. For some workouts I would 10 sets of 3 and then work singles on my pinch lever block. I worked up being able to strict curl 35's for an easy set of 8 this way.
