I guess it depends on how hard your putting out. I saw one vid once where the guys eyes started to bleed. Can't remember the name though.

I saw a video of Andy Bolton when deadlifting for a world record, he had something in his nostrils to prevent the nose bleeding.

Equipment definitely makes that worse. When using bench shirts I bust vessels around my whole face.

equipment puts alot of pressure on teh body making the tiny vessels in teh nose bust like no one's business especially under the strain of heavy loads!

that and snorting alot of ammonia to get jacked tends to dry out the nasal passages causing them more frequently too.

I'd be willing to bet that that fat-ass could not complete a set of 20 rep squats with any weight that would cause him to breathe for more than a minute, and so I don't think his rep ability is as good as you say.

Wannagrip is right. Suit, wraps, belt, and box. The number 705 is deceiving as far as real strength goes.

Still, Scott is a very strong powerlifter. Sometimes it's just hard to give those guys at Super Training any credit because they're such D-bags. Stan Efferding is my favorite lifter there. He's got a raw total (knee wraps) in the 2200's.

Agreed. I'm also not a fan of the "dedicated" powerlifting squat style which uses the huge stance and knees-way-out movement. It's almost like slight of hand to appear like proper depth. Rex, your squat style is more of a classic athletic movement where you are actually squatting the weight down and back up. Disclaimer: This is coming from Mr. "I can't squat 705 either damn way".

Brent.
