cemery
I hate to ask a dumb question that has already been asked, but I have been searching and cannot find an answer. I want to know the definition of SPAM. If it has been discussed please post a link I can read. I can only guess that SPAM is a trying to sell something for your benifit on the board. I was wondering if it is O.K. to talk about a product that you own for a (product review). Does this mean we cannot state where we purchased this item from or what ? Just wanting to know so I dont mess up. Thanks in advance.

Autolupus
It's one of those things that's open to interpretation and can therefore, quite often, prove to be a bit of a contentious issue.
wscorpion
If we take a look at previous posts, then there's nothing wrong with a review of a particular device, granted that it's related to the board. Take a look at David Horne for example, he sells the Vulcan gripper. And it's also discussed, and mentioned, by him and others on the board. Since it's a valuable contribution to the board, I don't think there's anything wrong with it. However, like stated before, would you start advertising websites in multiple posts, topics, etc, then you might get a warning from one of the mods / admins. I think using your own common sense would be best in this matter.
Wes
Spam is advertising for something, as opposed to giving your thoughts on it. It can also include asking dumb, irrelevant, redundant questions or questions that could have easily been answered with the miraculous, and heavenly, "search" button. (IE I'm a noob, my hands are 7.63485563 inches long, what do I do to get strong??!!??? My gripper springs that are made of carbon steel are rusting! Why is this happening!?). Nothing wrong with a good review Edited May 5, 2008 by Wes
