Alawadhi
After watching the videos from Nemiroff 2004, you can see that Voevoda won against everyone easily, not just Brzenk. So unless by some crazy coincidence all the players who armwrestled him were very tired from previous matches, the only conclusion I can come up with is that he was too strong for everyone during those matches. Brzenk also wins very quickly and easily, but I think that Voevoda still would win against a healthy Brzenk, although maybe not as easily as against others. This is probably the best video of Brzenk at his strongest that is widely available on the Internet: john brzenk boomtown http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RRHSVdrMx-w The last match is against Marcio Barboza. In that kind of shape, it's hard for me to imagine anyone beating Brzenk. Who's the idiot at 32 seconds? John took him straight down. There was no "trick" involved. I am sure he was just kidding. lifesnotfair
I agree with Garrett!!! In that shape, it's hard to see him losing... look how he toyed with no other than Marcio!! Unbelievable...
Matt Brouse
Interesting. I don't like toughguys, however, or celebrations.
lifesnotfair
Interesting. I don't like toughguys, however, or celebrations. I hate the fact that this video is online, but according to those who know some history, John had way more victories against Gary, than the other way around. But not in that tourney of course! I think I also saw a video of John losing to Gary and to Lupkes, don't remember the year. But that makes for two matches of him losing against Gary.. where are the videos of him winning? We need them!!

That video looked like a 187-pound John vs. a 260-pound Gary. The most impressive arm wrestling video I've seen was those old clips of Richard Lupkes on ArmTV: the way Lupkes just hammered Brzenk, Goodrich, Norton, et al, leads me to believe that a young Lupkes is perhaps the strongest SHW of all time. Matt Brouse
Is that Gary fellow a fighter? I thought I saw a fight video online of him...
Florian Kellersmann
Is that Gary fellow a fighter? I thought I saw a fight video online of him... Yes. Similar carreer as Alan Karaev. I think there is a video somewhere of these two former armwrestlers fighting K1 or something like this.

I could be wrong though.
