Front Squat:

all wt + blue bands (0 @ bottom, 130 @ top)

275 x 5 @ 7

315 x 5 @ 8

345 x 2 @ 9

345 x 3 @ 9

345 x 4 @ 9

345 x 5 @ 9

315 x 5 @ 9

Added Ace briefs at 345; trying to get more comfortable with gear but this actually made it more difficult. Probably not a good choice for front squats.

messed around with a chain deadlift but decided to call it without going up too much

Back Squat:

raw

505 x 3 @ 7

555 x 3 @ 7

595 x 2 @ 8 added belt

645 x 2 @ 8 added knee wraps

685 x 1 @ 9.5

added suit; single ply IPF Titan, size 50, loose straps

505 x 2 @ 9 straps down

595 x 2 @ 9

655 x 1 @ 9 straps up

695 x 1 @ 8

This was the first time I've ever used a squat suit. Curiously, each set was easier than the preceding one, albeit I was increasing weight. Hopefully learning how to use the gear will pay off in greater gains for overall strength, we'll see.

Heavier weight will push you down "through" the suit better.

my bench is way off; too much pressing and tricep work this week

2 board 495 x 3

3 board 545 x 3

Obviously awkward learning a shirt, although, the speed was quite good.

Nice squatting and benching. You'll probably get some nice bench gains just from actually doing a normal bench press on a regular basis as well.

You going to try anything more than singly ply for a squat suit?

Thanks Kelly-

Maybe I'll wear briefs with the suit once I'm more comfortable with the gear.

I was thinking more along the lines of the Leviathan, should put you around the 1200lb squat mark! :mosher

Kelly- I think I'll take it a little slower for my first powerlifting meet. As long as I make gains and learn how to use the equipment properly that will be a good accomplishment in itself.

Shirts are frustrating, eh? What size is yours? What make and model?

Yep, so far the bench shirt has been the most frustrating to deal with.

Do you have a shirt? If so, what size?

It's a double ply denim; not sure of the manufacture as there are no identifiable markings on the shirt. I think I'm going to have to buy a different shirt, probably a single-ply poly so I can wear it in other feds as well.

Any recommendations???

I have a single ply Titan in a 54 (I think) which is too big. I know Metal makes an IPF approved line... and Titan, obviuusly... Not really my area. It should be a sonofabitch to get on, for the record.
