Bmi Vs. Forearm Size

Another interesting correlation is that between upper arm and forearm measurements. I think that it is impossible to achieve a ratio below 1 (UA/FA). I also think that the fastest way to bigger forearms is to get bigger upper arms.

I thought that would be interesting as well, but I didn't want to be the dumb noob to suggest it. My upper arm is around 16" compared to 14" for lower...a ratio of 1.143

BMI: 30.1 which is considered "obese" on the scale. I'm 5'10" and 215 pounds.

Forearm measured straight: 12 and 7/8".

Best gripper close: MM2.

Why are people listing grippers that they are "almost" closing? I am only 2 and 7/8" away from closing a World Class then.

Because closing #2.5 means nothing here, but if you millimeter or two of closing #3 that's something ;)

BMI 21.2

Forearm: 12 1/4" measured cold and straight, wrist neutral, fist closed

Best gripper closed Hg 300 (2.4) MMS or #2 no set

It is highly possible to have an UA/FA ratio less than 1. Mine were equal for a while then all the gymnastics grew my UA a few inches. A few of my rockclimber friends have forearms as much as 1" bigger than their upper arms.

The 2.5 close means more to most of us than not closing the #3.

Ivarboneless,

I've been a rockclimber for almost 20 years and I know of no one who has a forearm 1 inch larger that their upper arm. I can get such measurements on my own arms but they involve goose-necked wrist + bent elboe for the forearm measurement and a straight upper arm. Both straight I get 1:1. I have about the most lopsided arms of any of the climbers I know or have seen (and I've seen the very best of the best). Their may be some mutant out there with slightly larger forearms than upper arms but 99%+ of everybody will get bad tendonitis in their elboes prior to achieving this. You must train the surrounding muscles to avoid the tendonitis and the forearms grow much slower so they end up smaller.

Wes had forearms that were the same size or slightly larger than his upper arms at one point. That was more from neglect tho.

Tim

BMI-24.2 (5'8", 158 pounds at time of this post.)

Forearms- 12" and maybe a 1/4" straight, 13.5" or slightly larger goosenecked.

Gripper closed- #2 repped from CCS

A question for y'all. How much increase have you been able to achieve in forearm size due to workouts

and not with a large weight gain?

Nice to see I'm still in the lead (in my eyes)!

I would say almost all of my forearm size is due to workouts, cos I carry very little fat on my arms and legs, and almost none on my forearms and lower legs.

I didn't make my self clear. What I should have said was as a muscle/tendon group,

how would you rate the forearm measurement in its' ability to be increased, with the

wrist practically impossible to increase in size used as a baseline and the triceps

as probably the easiest in my opinion?

My forearm size has increased by maybe an inch since I started lifting in college, but I've also gained about 30 lbs. since then, so it's hard to tell.

If it matters for your update, I have managed to NS close the HG 200. I still can't do the 300, though. I'm waiting for a IM#2 to try.
