Grip board book

Was just an "if" there Roark. I certainly wouldn't expect Richard or David to feel awkward or arrogant at all. In fact I doubt anyone nominated would but, keeping it more private offers a level of privacy for said people to decide if they wish to make the contribution. Other factors may be involved aswell with thier decision.

I think some of you misread what I thought was clearly stated. I did not say the top five men to be contacted ,I DID say have as many "grip guys" respond listing their own personal best efforts and evaluation of the wealth of information THEN be done by the book writers. I feel there are many out there in our ranks that may not be #3 closers but have accompished some other outstanding grip related feats.I feel a person does have a feeling of "his best" or what he or she is most proud of and submitting in this way may bring to light some marks that could have been lost.

Just to be clear: About Aug 1st the Table of Contents for

the Grip Strength Encyclopedia will be posted. This will be

an empty table of contents- just an outline, for format, to

invite your input and suggestions.

The handy characteristic of an ebook, of course, is that

you can click and choose what you wish, so if certain items

are not 'in the order' you wish, simply click on whatever

interests you (when it is completed). So let's not have

arguments about whether crushing strength should be chapter

one or whether pinching strength should be chapter one- so

long as everything is covered, 'page number' is not significant.

It is fair to guess that huge variances of opinion will be offered. No one is wrong offering an opinion, but someone

must make the final decision, and frankly, that looks like

Wannagrip and me for the moment at least. But  these

decisions will be made with the WILL OF THE MAJORITY in

mind, not our wills. We have to get started.

This is a work in progress, and probably not speedy progress,

so please be patient. Once the core sections are outlined,

then we can begin asking people for imput to contribute text,

and may have an open section for anyone to add to. My

ignorance of computer matters is widespread, so the

technical aspects will be controlled by Wannagrip.

Hopefully, when this ebook is complete, it will contain thoughts

of the current grip masters and thoughts of those interested

in becoming grip masters, and will become THE reference source on the web for matters of grip.

Wannagrip has already nixed my idea of a Grip Strength

Enclyclopedia Cheerleading Squad. Spoilsport.

Thanks, Nathan. Will add them. I did not have the material

ready but promised it for Aug 1, so wanted to present

what I had so far.

We will have sections on how to perform the various

lifts, how to take measurements etc.

Suggestions welcome!

  • 2 weeks later...

With apologies, I must bow out of working on the

GBSE.

Time constraints prevent me from moving forward

with any appropriate speed on the project, as I

must concentrate on some other matters.

As the man said, 'We do what we must, and call

it by the best names'.

As this is something I want to see work and I can be as busy as anyone here (training, magazine, protein website, writing for other mags, record breaking :), house keeping and work) I woukld be happy to nag on behalf of the board its own members into sending in their work, editing and forwarding to Wanna for inclusion in a ebook.

I ask for members views and if agreed will ask Joe to send me what he's got (I'll get everyhting onto a cdrom).
