Whats up guys, just wanted to start a separate gripper log since i have closed my #2 and im steadily on my way to destroying my #3 and on. I will keep my progress and training for everyone else to see and comment. I will start with todays workout that is also in my journal.

Gripper Workout - Oh yes, There will be blood!!!

Warmup

Note: After my warmup, i put on Mudvayne - Dig, chalked up a bit, went crazy with adrenaline and decided to annihilate my grippers!

RH - Attempt at HG300 with MMS - Closed (PR!!)

RH - Attempt at RB180 with MMS - Failed 1cm (Felt great on this one, almost had it!)

RH - Attempt at BBSM with MMS - Failed 3/16" (PR!!)

Note: Pretty much experimenting with pinch today, because i never really had a serious pinch workout. Enjoyed it very much and am going to start to have a workout program for each aspect of grip instead of just fooling around lol

Bending

Grade 2 Bolt - 1/4 - 6" - Very easy - Took maybe 4 seconds

Note: Thats all i bent today lol, went to home depot with friend and bought some more bolts and i got some 1/4 HRS to cut down to 7" to train for the yellow nail.

Bending is a lot of technique. Watch lotts of vids of the good benders here on the board, there are tonnes of them! Youll be bending the yellow in a heart beat, then onto the bigger steel!!!

Good work on the grippers. Is your HG 300 easier or harder than your SM?

My HG300 is easier them my BBSM. The spread on it is about 2 5/16" due to some use on the hose clamps.

Note: Did a bit better then last grip workout as i upped the number of reps per set. My left hand is still pretty inconsistent as on the 6th set i got a burst of power and then died on my last set with only 3 reps. Both of my hands are TOTALLY DESTROYED, even some cuts. I love it! lol

Bending - Decided to bend a bit because the bolts were taunting me.

Note: I bent all of these with my hands straight out in front of me, bending them with only my wrist power, even the crushdown, like in tommy heslep's video on Wes's journal.

July 8th, 2006 Grip Workout

Bending

Yellow Nail 7" - DU - Kinked to 25 degrees (PR!!)

Yellow Nail 7" - DU - Kinked to 10 degrees

1/4" HRS 6.5" - DU - Kinked to 35 degrees (PR!!)

1/4" HRS 7" - DU - 45 seconds

Note: Finally was able to kink the yellow nail, which i was never able to before. Got a decent kink but finally had nothing left. Tried another unkinked yellow and only got about 10 degrees. I then went after my 1/4 HRS stock and grabbed a 6.5" rather then a 7" by mistake and I was very upset about not being able to bend it until i figured out that it was a 6.5". At least i got a pretty good kink on it as well. The road to the yellow nail is coming closer every week.

Sledgehammer - 8lbs

Front levering - Pick up hammer from floor keeping it parallel to floor to lockout and back down.

Looking through your workout sheet, my advice would be to seperate the thick-bar and gripper work, and maybe include plate snatches( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ea79khX4su4 ). You don't want to over-tax your hands during your workout.

You could include plate snatches in both your gripper and thick-bar work.

BB SuperElite clamped to 3mm - CLOSED!! (PR!!)

BB SuperElite clamped to 1/4" - CLOSED!! (PR!!)

Yes it says SuperElite....

Loads more attempts on #3 at 3/4" and BBElite at 1/2" - all pretty close.

But what about the lefty? Did he fall behind even more? I think not!!

BBSM clamped to 5/8" - CLOSED!! (PR!!)

BBSM clamped to 3/4" - CLOSED!! (PR!!)

BBSM clamped to 7/8" - CLOSED!! (PR!!)

BBSM clamped to 1" - CLOSED!! (PR!!) - I WILL shut it without a clamp on friday.

BBGM clamped to 1/4" - CLOSED!! (PR!!)

BBGM clamped to 3/8" - CLOSED!! (PR!!) - WHAT THE HECK!!

BBGM clamped to 1/2" - 3 Attempts... on last attempt.... CLOSED!! (PR!!)

Loads more attempts on BBGM clamped to 1/2" - Tired at this point but always pretty close.

NOTE: Well what the hell can i say. I really dont know what happened today, but the grippers were... slayed? Im not sure exactly what it was that made me have all these PR's today. Ive had a fever the past few days, better now obviously lol - Actually i would like to thank Paul for motivating me to pick up my grippers. I read his log and how he closed his BBSE today(Great job Paul!!) and i took a look at my #3 sitting on my shelf with a clamp around his neck and decided to warmup and give him a go, and the rest is history. Now i just have to make these closes official on friday :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:
