David Horne
Hey I'm really happy owning both records I also think it's a positive move to have single event comps. This will bring in certain people who may not have thought about contests before. I certainly know that it's harder to train for 5 events. climber511
First - Congratulations to David once again gor some great lifting and then a comment of a more general nature. One nice thing I think about having single event WR's is how easy it might be to have a single event contest as part of other strength events like Strongman, Powerlifting, Olympic lifting etc. This could give great exposure to our sport. David Horne
John, My dad loved comp days when he competed. The lifting was just a part of a fun filled day, with camraderie, banter, food and some beers as well. He would have loved saturday, and this is the reason I've done something every year, as a celebration (as it's his birthday) and basicaly doing something that he was interested in. I have other days where I mourn. I have not done much pinching since the contest last year, but we've done a lot of work on the car tyre. We find it a useful training tool. Franky, Cheers matey! twig
5 mins into the journey and the doolash breaks out his butty box and starts eating egg butties (the lads still growing)Egg butties in a car? I hope he got a dead arm for that! Sounds like you all had as much fun as I did, fortunately you were more successful than I was, I lost every single penny I took to the poker game! Fortunately we use table stakes, and never take more than we can afford to lose. There's an old tyre on the building site next to my house, I think I'll swipe it tonight!
