psilosopher
This is only my second post here, but I wanted to say that the things I've read have really encouraged me in my workouts, and offer thanks to everyone. My goal is to certify on the number 3, and to build my wrist strength (though I don't yet have a goal weight, it's mostly to help with the gripping). I'm training on grippers every other day towards this end. Just 3 weeks ago I bought a cheesy toy from a local sports equipment store, and I put in my order for the full set of HGs. When I started on those two weeks ago, I could barely close the 100. Now I'm doing reps on the 150 and am half a cm off from closing the 200. Here's what I've been doing every other day: 3 sets of 10 reps on the 100, to warm up. Then 4 sets of 5 on the 150, and finally about 15 attempts to close the 200, all with both hands. I've only had one day so far where I could only do about half of all that in because my tendons were feeling it, and I don't want to end up injured. At this rate I'm hoping to achieve my goal within 3 months. This might be overly optimistic, but if my rate of progress continues (which I am certain it won't), I'd be done in a month. Any thoughts would be welcomed, and I'd especially like to hear from people who grip more often than I do because If I thought I could gain strength faster and not injure myself, I could push myself faster. unseenbeat
Welcome man, and I'm going to beat everyone else in saying cut down on the warmup volume, one set and u should be fine. Everything else looks good, tho.
skinbones
You will hit a plateau sometime, can't tell you when, tho. I would work all aspects of grip, especially block weights and some sort of wrist work (either sledgehammers or plate curls). Read the Grip FAQ on this board and buy the book Mastery of Hand Strength. And if you want to close the #3, buy it! This way you will have some idea of your progress, and you can get a feel for the ironmind grippers. Good luck in your progression!
