Bob brings up a good point.

once the bar is taken to about 90 degrees, wrists/forearm strength is taken out of the equation. Half the bend requires upperbody strength to complete.

Unless the guys that are complaining about people having hands on the ends of bars are only bending to 90, there is nothing to complain about.
