I think with these events, no one stands a chance against you, David.

Steve McGranahan will be a close second though, so you are allowed no mistake!

also curious to see what Nick Mckinless will do.

Very hard to predict.

Big Steve should win the grippers event easily.

Since a point system will be applied, the grippers will give him a big advantage in that event. (Especially considering his strong left in grippers!!).

It'll be close in the pinch and I assume in the sledge event also.

Not sure in the OHDL. Both should be very good there. Maybe its a tie here.

So David needs to clearly win the vbar to beat Steve overall.

I'd say its 50:50 between David and Big Steve.

But I voted for Steve to challenge David a bit. :D

Gotta go with the Legend on account he always brings his best when competing and being more used to the equipment than Big Steve.

I think top 3 will be David 1st,Big Steve 2nd and Nick 3rd.

If Nick has regained his old strength and then some watch out.

Mobster i feel is still not fully recovered but will give his best as always and will up there on the grippers and lever.

Jim is still mending so not this year but will still break his v-bar record and would have won that event if not for the injured wrist.

Good luck to all looking forward to meeting and watching you all get it on :)

Well I'm flattered and suprised with the voting. I have to say watch out for Nick McKinless, he's looking very strong. Regarding McGranahan, all I need to do is look at the trailer for his dvd! Eeeeeeeee! :bow

Gonna have to go with Big Steve. But I have been wrong before....

Any chance of getting this Competition on DVD?

Good Luck to all.

Too bad Oklahoma isn't closer to the Comp., I'd love to see this in person.

Later, Jason

Wow you guys are kind. To beat any of these Studs I will need my A game thats for sure. I must say I have had some very scary workouts lately. God has been good and I give Him the glory for this old man's strength. :bow A good point is I do not know these lifts well and all my stuff at home is very slick. V Bar whoof I have loved to hate this lift. Any Pr on it I will be so very happy. All I want to do is prs in every lift and I will call it a wonderful day with my friends there over that big pond. Yes, Steve you are my friend! :cry

I now think the winner could come from any of the following:

Big Steve

Mobster

Nick

Should be a great contest :)

Thank you Jim. It wont be for the lack of effort I can tell ya. I've trained in the rain, wind and with creaking floor boards and torn skin. I've sweated and bleed. And I ain't the only one.

I can only press a 6lb dumbell with my left shoulder, and then I can't lock out! Lucky the press is not in this comp! :)

I will have another couple of training sessions, and all being well from these I am in on saturday. :D

I have worked incredibly hard on my rehab (basically 3 hours a day).

Nothing is over till it's over. Beware!

I will be. I've been in regular contact with David and in one such chat this week he mentioned how one of his physio/massage sessions made him feel quite ill. As per another post and even Frankboy's log there are a great many training for this event to and beyond the point of injury. And those are the people we are competing with - busted up but with rabid determination. It's gonna be a hell of a competition. :help

Good luck everyone at the contest. I am sure there will be some outstanding lifting even with all the injuries.
