Zakath
I was thinking about the apparatus Arne uses, the area where you gripped it seemed a little "rugged up", is it supposed to be that way or did it come with (over)use?
Mikael Siversson
Rugged up? The area you grip will always give you the best grip because of the buildup of chalk. I doubt the surface has deterioated with use. These are the pinch results for those that competed in all three LGC that has been held since the introduction of the Euro standard pinch set up. Johan Albrektsson LGC XI - 81k LGC XII- 88k LGC XIII-87k Arne Persson LGC XI - 69k LGC XII- 69k LGC XIII-63k Mario Sjögren LGC XI - 85k LGC XII- 86k LGC XIII-86k The differences between these comps. do not indicate a deteriorating rugged surface providing more friction over time. The increase in Johan's results can be explained by the fact that he does a lot more pinching than the other two competitors which both have a very relaxed attitude so to speak. The latter two competitor's results are therefore a more reliable indicator of the deterioration of the plates. Based on their results there seem to be none affecting the results, which is good. Mikael Siversson
What you describe Zakath, sound like the normal seasoning effect of the magnesium that you get after a few workouts with a new pinch set up and also with a new v-bar.
Andy
I don't understand the set-up of this can someone please explain it or post a pic. ← Cunny, try this link - http://homepage.ntlworld.com/a.christie3/PicTHPEquip.htm I had the central bar made specially as I only have 1-inch weight plates. The apparatus is designed for a 2-inch bar.
David Horne
Ok, I've had some orders in and will be placing these with the company today. Please could any other orders come in soon please. Thanks, David
climber511
David - what is the weight of the entire assembly? And do you include that in the results?
David Horne
The weight varies to how wide you have the set-up. Yes the weight is included.
climber511
Not that it matters but how was the diameter for the pinch setup chosen - it isn't the same size as any standard plate size I know of here in the states. Smaller than 45s and bigger than 35s, does it match a kilo size - just curious how you came up with that particular size ?

Otherwise one would not be able to tilt the discs which virtually everyone does to some extent. For example with two 45lbs' as base you would then normally add additional smaller diameter plates. It was also a compromise between the smaller size used in the LGC and the larger size used in the IG. smitty
David - so the weight of the 2 hand pinch device is included in the totals. Is the weight of the vbar included in the totals?
Jedd Johnson
David/Mikael - please see my post for a pinch question. http://www.gripboard.com/index.php?showtop...98entry174898 Thanks. -Jedd-
FrankyBoy
Tilt is just more difficult (and propably a good way to train that) if the weight plates are bigger than the pinch plates but not impossible. FrankyBoy
Yes, it is usually included in any totals. Its 1.5kg = 3.3lb. David - so the weight of the 2 hand pinch device is included in the totals. Is the weight of the vbar included in the totals? ←
