Another Question Regarding Grip Training...

Ok, I seen plenty of good exercises for developing grip and pinch strength...

My question has to do with the other side... the extensors...

Natural tendency is to work both sides to create balance...

Quads - Hamstrings

Biceps - Triceps

Chest - Back

However, are these two muscle groups the same as the above... is balanced training wanted or even desired?

Or are the hand/finger extensors the human equivalant to the muscle that opens an alligator's jaw? Are they muscles that need to strengthened or are they just muscles that need to be lightly worked because all they do is release the "crush" of gator like grips?

Interested in some opinions...

Thanks,

SA

The general concensus seems to be that the extensors need to be worked to maintain musclebalance and help avoid injuries.

As far as how hard they infact are worked, I guess that varies from person to person. Maybe because there are no simple "gripper-equivalent" ways of working them, allthough there are quite a few methods none the less.

Rubberbands, manual resistance, extensor platelifting, lifting jars from the inside etc
