Bob Lipinski
I am looking forward to it. There is quite a bit of shit talking here about people who set grippers being weak, doing partials, etc. I want to see who's gonna step forward and kick ass. My guess is that the same guys will still be on top, if they choose to play.

Bob Lipinski
Thanks. Not buying any grippers yet, but next one I get will be one to certify on.
OldGuy
Warren needs to get online or at least have someone handle it on his behalf. Maybe have his own forum on here?
SqeezeMasterFlash
I beleive Warren's been working on a website. Last time I talked to him it was only a week away from done, but that was a few weeks ago
tmmicklabs
I talked to Warren on the phone today. What a great guy. We talked for 45 minutes about grippers, wrasslin', blobs and bending. He is sending me a Master Gripper with 4.5' handles. You guys might not like his certification process though. His idea of a no-set is to pick up the gripper off of the table and shut it. Positioning it into place with the free hand is not going to be allowed. This is gonna be hella' tough. I can close a Trainer like this but not a # 1 yet. I can close a # 1 and a BB Super Advanced using the new Ironmind rule # 4. I can close a # 2 using the Mash Monster rules. btw..My hands are on the small side...7 1/2' with a 2 1/2' pinky. All the boyz with hands smaller than mine are really gonna have a hard time with the Warren Tetting Cert. Good Luck Guys.
bencrush
Travis, which grippers will Mr Tetting be certifying? Is it GM and above?
Matt Van Weele
Master and above. No chalk either.

Tom Black
I seem to remember reading something about his grippers now being narrower to accomodate smaller hands (or that he was thinking about making narrow grippers). I could be wrong, this doesn't sound like the man who made my orginal #1 gripper, very very wide. I guess the mid stream change aspect of IM bothers me the most, when I read that he was going with a no set above it didn't hit me the same way. Isn't the current Master similiar to the IM#2, I only own an older Master (vintage 2000 I seem to remember), harder than a #2 and I think similliar to the SM. OldGuy
I seem to remember that handsize and gripper width would be taken into account by Tetting. Don't know about the master there are so many of them!
Tom Black
Don't know about the master there are so many of them! 11 now as we speak, old ones from the 60's (off the top of my head in no particular order because no one knows anyway): Super Duty Heavy Duty Super Heavy Duty... Gorilla Hands
Yo Snott, of all the ideas and posts of yours that I have read, this one I must say I like alot. TNS....Table No Set! Sounds cool. You have coind the neatest phrase in that. Don't worry I've agreed in other posts...(and horribly disagreed)....but this has that quirky merit that forces me to reply. SqeezeMasterFlash
Last I heard from Warren he will measure your hand and the span of the gripper will match
OldGuy
You set the table for dinner, but you don't set the gripper from the table

Tom Black
Last I heard from Warren he will measure your hand and the span of the gripper will match How on earth is he going to measure our hands? With a credit card? Ruler ? Maybe you have to send your hand size too him, mine's 4", I need a 3/4" spread between the handles

Jonathan McMillan
Tom, I got my master back in the fall and it is an easy #2, actually my BB and ironmind grippers seem to fall in place of the wire size lineup in the faq section. Snott: TNS -That is brilliant!!!!!!! Jon@Han
Bob Lipinski
I talked to Warren tonight. He told me Supermaster and above. He also told me he had been on the phone the last 2 hours talking about grippers, so I can imagine someone may have heard/understood something different. I am really interested to see the no set specialists "put up or shut up". I will close an SM no set rather soon I believe.

Mikael Siversson
Not allowing chalk is perhaps not the best rule. It may turn the certification into a Mr Basil science with a plethora of hand cleaning agents for optimal friction, especially for people with sweaty hands. amaury
Is there any good reason for not allowing chalk indeed ?
Matt Van Weele
Is there any good reason for not allowing chalk indeed ? You guys must want to use chalk for some reason. Probably because it makes it EASIER. Under his rules this will be a hard way of doing things. I talked with him last night and the gripper spread will go by hand size. Starting with master on up. I think with no set, chalk and a spread that is in coralation witht your hand size may surprise some of you. Especially the guys with the big paws. My hands are about 8 3/8 and he told me I will get a gripper with a 3'' spread. Within time there will be some type of a chart that tells how wide your gripper will be for your hand size. Bill Piche
I use chalk for the same reason I use chalk when I bench or deadlift. I don't like greasy/slippery hands when I lift. Dry hands is really what I am after so there is no slip whatsoever when I grab the bar.
