I thought I grabbed a 1/4 x 7" O1, instead of the 17/64" on the initial DU attempt.  It was way harder than I was expecting.  When I remeasured it, then it made sense.

I decided I would give Steel Shredder 9 a try, even though I was never that great with short braced bends.  I wasn't quite sure where to start, but the 9/32 drill rod felt OK, so I ended up working-up to a 5" Grade 5 in David Horne wraps.  It was a tough and painful bend, but I was pretty happy to get it.  Going to order contest steel soon.

The 17/64 attempt was way off-center and turned into a brutal fight.  Hands were pretty messed up after.  Tried the Grade 8, which was also rough, but not as bad with the pain of not being that off-center.  Took almost ten-minutes to finish it.
