GarytheDino
I know a few of you have tested the amount of pressure it takes to bend a particlar nail, bolt etc. Could you post your findings here please. I'm confused because it's not adding up. I have read most 60's are in the 300 neiborhood and the red nail is 385. Now I'm hearing grade 5's are around 500 depending on the letters on top. If this is true the first numbers are wrong.
SqeezeMasterFlash
Some of those #'s are a little skewed, becuase they're from different methods of testing. I belelive Terry Duty got the Red to bend with 385 on it, but only slightly. Compared to David Horne's method where the steel is bent further, the Red has been estimated at between 270 and 280k, or around 600lbs. Unless two testing machines apply the load at the same place to the nail and bend it the exact same amount, we're going to have two different sets of numbers.
