Mikael Siversson
David Horne is European Champion It was very close between him and Benny to the very end. David got 257.5k and failed 267.5k. Benny got 235k and jumped to 267.5k which he got further than David but not quite enough (this would have been enough for Benny to win). Not sure about third. Johan looked like a sure bet but lost a lot in bending to no other than Mobster who won the bending with a 267.5k. So Johan or Mobster in third. A huge congrat to David and allother competitors. wsm_fan_uk
An awesome end to an awesome career, congratulations David. Well done to Mobster too, your competitive bending progress has been very impressive. Thanks for the regular updates Mikael, I (like many others I suspect) have been logging on regularly to keep up to date, I look forward to seeing the full results. The Mac
I voted for David, but I think it is 60/40 between him and Benny. Of course (and this is what is great about these comps) someone may always come up on the outside and suprise everyone. Mob is probably my bet for 3rd, I am the man! Where's my Prize?? Seriously though, congratulations to all those who competed, but especially to Mr Horne, the first European Grip Champion!
EricMilfeld
What an exciting, closely contested contest! Congratulations to all. And yes, talk about going out with a bang, David! Excellent!

David Horne
Thank you all for your kind words. After a couple of beers and a very good sleep, I have woken up this morning to be reminded why I am actually retiring. Everything hurts! But at least I won't have to do it again, and I have to say, it was well worth it. Congratulations to all other competitors involved. The field was incredible. It was fantastic to meet so many new people, all very friendly and super strong!

Tom of Iowa2
The one hand lifts are amazing! Is there a thread with a description of exactly how this lift is done? Photos of a properly done one arm lift somewhere? Had NO idea Mobster was such a proficient bender.

I'm sure someone can (or already did) explain it better than me, but as I understand it's basically a one arm "hand-and-thigh" lift, with an adjustable chain to set the handle at the optimal height. You have to lift the weight atleast 5cm off the ground.
