Bending The Short Stuff

I cut the ends and filed some of the 60d nails I have so they ended up being about 5.5" long. I havent really bent (other than 3/16") shorter nails as my hands are pretty wide and the ends end up being towards the center of my hands (which seems it would make the bend very uncomfortable). I bend dbl underhand and was wondering if any of you all experience bruising this way with the shorter stuff? My hands are skinny and I dont want to start getting those deep bruises some of you seem to get from time to time. Does volume training with the short stuff tend to thicken/toughen the center of the hands?

Your hands will get tougher with time. Add 2 nails more each workout as a general goal. Sometimes you will get more than that, sometimes less. Try to use the fat part of your hands to crush down the nail. You will get more bends per workout. At the end of your training take an ice cube and squeeze it in the sore spot and hold it for as long as you can. This will push the heat and swelling out fast. It's ok to use thicker pads just try not to depend on them. You are doing great! Take your time. It will get better.
