OrangeCrush
I'm new to the grip world and just bought the CoC 1,2 and 3. Here's the idea: Why not attach a simple split wire, battery-operated apparatus to both handles (at the top or bottom of each handle) that lights a tiny diode up when the handles touch. Aluminum conducts electricity obviously, and I imagine this would be a simple, light and cheap thing to create. I don't think the steel spring would be a problem if the electrical charge was calibrated, but I'm not a mechanic. In fencing, when the tip of the foil touches the metal vest the fencers wear, the electric current sets off a light to indicate a "touch." Same concept. Not only would this help with verification of closes, but it would add another element to training. So what do you think?
SqeezeMasterFlash
I think Terry Duty was working on this with a clock hooked up to measure timed closes.
CMunger
I think it would be slicker than snot for contests and certifications, when hands might be shaking, etc.
ianders1
One of the board members with a website has a/some photos of a gripper w/clock just as you've described - I can't find it - maybe someone else knows.
cjcocn
http://home.insight.rr.com/strongman/ I think it's the one on Terry Duty's site .... I have the one that I am thinking of bookmarked at home so cannot be sure, but I think the above link will take you to it. Just click on "Training Devices" when you get there.
