I was just curious as to what are all the different types of Grippers and levels of each? I know that Iron Mind puts out the Trainer - #4, what are the others?

This is a frequently asked question (FAQ). Look around on this site and you will find a very detailed answer.

This link is in the FAQ forum. It might answer your question and give you an idea of in between sizes. I can also add that a Heavy grip 200 is typically less than a #2 and 250 is about half way between 2 and 3 close to the same as super master and hg 300 is very close to the same as #3 but a little less. Mine have a much thicker wire than the other 2 brands but are weaker in relation to the size of wire.

I am not sure that the original question was answered. All of the grippers listed in the linked thread are effectively the same type of gripper, they just have different levels of resistance.

The ISG on the otherhand is an entirely different type of gripper. Some companies make pieces of foam shaped like the inside of your hand that are to be used to strengthen grip. I have also seen in martial arts catalogs a type of gripper where the two paralel handles are brought together in a strait line and multiple springs are used for resistance. There are no doubt other designs being used for portable grip training tools.

Why not ask him?

Tracer,

Are you asking only about the nutcracker style gripper such as Ironminds?

Or other styles as well?

I've also seen a device generally referred to as an "eagle catcher" on several martial arts websites. This gripper features a frame with 5 springs attached to it. The springs are brought together with the fingers. This is more of a pinching and finger strengthener than a crush trainer.
