austinslater Posted April 23, 2004 Share Posted April 23, 2004 Nothing big but me and my partner started bending last wk and today we hit our first blue bend. We are laying off some other stuff like crush, pinch etc. and are going to see how bending goes. We are really new so feel free to offer advice in my new log. He just started working grip and is real close with a #3 and like I said above killed a blue. Hes bigray64 on the board. Should be fun pushing each other. austinslater Posted April 23, 2004 Author Share Posted April 23, 2004 As a side note, if you guys are thinking about doing grip competitions underhand might be a better option for all around strength. Cody set a couple of crush prs since bending and I did a few #3 singles after todays workout. It seems that underhand saves the crush somewhat. Might want to give it a try. I was horrible with underhand last wk fighting a timber tie and a wk later i did a blue in a few sec. so It seems to climb fast as you get the feel for it, so if it feels hard at first stick with it and see what happens. It's fun with Austin and I wrappin and bending back and forth. Now everything he does I have to do and vice versa.It will be interesting to see where we push each other.
