Bending Pr - Grade 5 Bolt

Recommended Posts

After a good KB workout I decided to try a little bending -

went through 2 - 40d nails and a Blue nail as warm up and then caught site of a grade 5 bolt sitting there and decided to wrap it up and give it a go.

Using the old terminator style - then double underhand -and then chest crush -

the Grade 5 bolt fell!

The bend felt great - a bit off center but less than 2" in the end.

My last attempt at a grade 5 was only a kink - felt great to "melt" this one down!

I will get a picture of the finish and get video when I can get in front of a camera.

Thanks Eric and the Gripboard -

Super progress Brett! Congratulations! You've already become an accomplished bender with that feat!

A grade 5 bolt bend is no joke!

Once you reach that mark, like Eric said, you are definitely an accomplished bender. You have made quick progress... great job :rock

Great bending Brett! :mosher

Correct me if I´m wrong but isn´t bending off center even harder? I remember reading somewhere that it is.

About that quick progress smitty mentioned... How long have you been bending?

Awesome Brett! That is a very good bend.

I finally tried bending last week and have bent something everyday. Taking the GTG approach.

Will you be at the GS comp May15th? If so I will see you there.

Thanks guys -

I started bending on Feb 7 2004 - Witnessed SHRUG and Big Steve doing some grip feats and that was it.

Thorfin - I will be at the May 15 Nationals - see you there!

BTW - the springy portion of the bolt didn't kick in until the final crush - it was weird to crush it down and feel it kick back out a bit. :blink

Gotta love the bending!!

Smashing! The grade 5 is quite a bit harder than most 60Ds, what do you think?

Excellent work! :rock I'm still on the long and winding road to the Grade 5 myself. Difference is you're apparently driving a Jeep-and I'm pedaling a 50 year old 3 speed bicycle... with flat tires! :D

The RED will be falling before you know it! :rock

Thanks guys!

I am going to keep on bending - cut grade 5s and on to grade 8s.

RED in the future.

mmainlands - the grade 5 went very well - I will judge the difference between the 60d and the Grade 5 after bending some more grade 5s. Grade 5 certainly harder and springy.
