Matt Van Weele
I think the good ones are made of a very high grade steel that then goes through various heat treatments. I have heard that the Eleiko bars can be bent into the shape of a horseshoe and still spring back straight. Try that with a bar you get with the 300 pound olympic weight sets and your in trouble. If you were going to get steel for a bar I would look into a fatigue proof type of steel. I beleive there are higher grades available though. Davekline
Ivanko uses either carbon steel or stainless steel. They do not chrome plate their bars as this weakens the bar's structural integrity. Good bars are not chrome plated, chrome plated bars are not good.
