Attention All Benders...

Hey everybody

just wondering...i'm just startng to get into bending and i was wondering if it was considered O K to brace one end of the bolt on a leg. I couldn't bend it with just hands...i braced one end of the bolt against a leg, and struggling... bent the sonofabitch. felt great, man.

can anyone help?

p.s. is the ability to lever a 10 lb sledgehammer pretty good or should i just shut my mouth?

A 10 pound sledge is very good for a beginner, and talking about our accomplishments is just part of what makes this board great. As far as bending goes, bracing on the leg is considered cheating by most, but most of us have done it and do it on occasion to bend bigger stuff. I would encourage you to work mainley on unbraced bends though as that is the accepted standard....by the way what size bolt did you mangle?? Keep up the hard work, and p.s. put all bending stuff in the bending forum, as this will get moved shortly there anyway....Brett
