Revtor
Hey guys.. I was surfing around today for metal to make myself a few new toys.. well, at www.onlinemetals.com they have 7.5" diameter 4340 heat treated rod for sale at $37.50 per 4" length. This is in the CLEARANCE section of the site. I figure a piece of metal this size is an approximate blob, and with a bit of calculation comes in right at 50lbs!!!! If you have a lathe that can hold this diameter material then you're in business! (round the edges, taper the face, etc.. however far you want to go..) they can also do custom cuts in 1" increments for $12 an inch of this material, so if you wanted a 5" piece it would be about twice the price but still not bad for a piece of metal this big... lots of other metals there too, check it!!! grip on ~SteveM. Revtor
Well, come to think of it.. it wouldnt be bad if you lived near Seattle, where the place is.. but shipping would probably be as much as the metal itself, if not more! oh well.. for all you guys near Seattle I guess.. ~Steve
