Jared P
Sharing in case anyone missed the announcement. Atomgripz from the UK is back in business, and has released a limited edition brass handled 6-band reaper with only a total of 50 grippers being made, and no more. Options for the spring are a natural carbon black spring (£199) or a polished spring (£229). These things look awesome. Available on www.atomgripz.com, or by talking to @lloyd80s, the founder of Atomgripz. Another unique custom piece is 'The Duke', a 25mm brass smooth handled gripper with a 62mm spread.

I would like to see an RGC for the Atom keychain. Has anyone done one? What do you guys guess it would be? My guess would be around 15lbs. Like something basically impossible to close? Any plans on doing a beautiful gripper like that in the roughly 150-175 range?
lloyd80s
Before we RGC a mini Atom, let's get some guesses in first!

lloyd80s
Just now, lloyd80s said: Maybe a full range, but not this year. Also, it would only be bands 1-5 as no more brass reapers will be made.

Douglas Carney
9 minutes ago, lloyd80s said: What's your guess Doug? My guess is the Atomgripz 24kt Gold Plated Mini Gripper will be comparable to the blue GHP Junior which Matt approximated as 20 RGC. But no heavier than that...just based on photos of the spring and spread.
lloyd80s
Must be more than 5lb, I think over 10lbs. I'm interested to know now! 1

deadgrip
Getting reapers before they’re reaped! these are easily some of the coolest grippers out right now. Keep it up Lloyd!
lloyd80s
I did a rating on the mini atom keychain today. I did this by holding one handle in a vice horizontally, then stacking weights on the end of the other handle until they touched. It won't be as accurate as true RGC, but I was surprised that I got to 21lbs before it closed. I'm proud of that little spring!
BenMorrissey
I've now got The Duke in my possession, and I have to say it's a beautiful gripper. I'll upload some photos of it once I'm off work, but it's a great piece to look at (don't think I'll be closing it for now). The new Atomgripz knurled grippers have great knurling as well. If you like your knurling sharp, the new version should satisfy anyone. I've only got a 3-band from the original version to compare to, but the new ones are definitely sharper. Which is fun, since the originals had decently sharp grip to begin with.

degradated
I just wanted to share my experience with Lloyd and AtomGripz @lloyd80s. First of all, he is a true gentleman and class act. Very polite, knowledgeable and was patient with me which I appreciate very much. The product is totally incredible. It feels so different in your hand compared to any other gripper, mainly because this 3-band is polished stainless compared to normal aluminum which is about twice the weight. Also the lack of knurling makes it very interesting to grip. The quality is top-notch all around, from the handles to the spring - I look forward to seeing what else AtomGripz has to offer in the future. Shipping from Europe to the USA was slightly pricey (to be expected), but got here quickly and Lloyd held up his promise to ship right away and sent it securely... Packaging was great and he even threw in an unexpected surprise. Totally stoked with my purchase - Thanks a million! BenMorrissey
Had a slight delay in getting these uploaded, but wanted to share a few photos. Lloyd was also happy to sell me a 2-band (and 4-band) knurled gripper from the new series. I have a few other grippers that I'll upload some pictures of. The knurling on the new series is very sharp - sharper even than the original Atomgripz, which were always good for knurling. Very high quality overall. The new handles are very similar to the old series, although the bands on the handles seem slightly thinner, and obviously the addition of the Atomgripz gel sticker at the bottom. Given the quantity of items ordered (will share more photos) it was a very easy process, and Lloyd has been patient with all my queries in order to get everything in place. The Duke is almost a piece of gripper art - feels great in the hand (even though I doubt I'll ever close it).
Slipshod
Having attempted the new Quad band with aluminium handles, I can safely say it is a lot stronger than the old AtomGripz springs. I have a 165 Standard Cobalt, unrated CoC 3.5, unrated GHP8 and a 188 rated Standard Ti spring. None of which I can actually close but I can attempt to manhandle (i.e. set) all of the others noticeably more than this one. Of course this won't have been worn in in the way that @Cannon does for his RGC ratings, and without being able to close it myself this is just conjecture. As a side note Matt, have you kept a record of the AtomGripz that you have previously rated? I know that since they were never "pack fresh" i.e. from your store that they were never officially included in the ratings data page, but it would be interesting to know what mark any of the old ones came out to - assuming many were even sent in for rating Edited July 9 by Slipshod
