Which type of grip is trained by the Rolling Thunder - pinch- or/and crush or anything else?

It's more of a total hand strength exercise, working the thumb, finger tip strength, and the wrist. It could be called a crush/pinch/wrist exercise. Popular for it's impressive nature and the INCH bell, but some find that it takes too long to recover after working that grip. Also, while recovering from thick-bar, people find their crushing strength plummets.

Hi bender!

That sounds interesting. Yesterday I trained with the Rolling Thunder, some RB- and CoC-grippers and the Tiatans Telegraph Key - today I can hardly move my hands/fingers :-). That's one of the reasons why I did not know the purpose of the Rolling Thunder-training!

Another question: what is in general regarded as a high weight (max) for the Rolling Thunder - perhaps a silly question?! Are there world records....?

Greetings from Germany (and sorry for the English ;-))

Simply put the RT tains your supporting grip. According to me anything over 200 is real good. If memory serves me correctly, the official World record is about 270 lbs.

Word to that!

I got some thick bars for Xmas, I'm on for once a week and grippers take a while to get back to my level on.

Digz.
