I want to go on record to state that this may be the first grip contest ever where the Men’s Geezer Category has been bifurcated: Heavy Geezers, and Fit Geezers.

King Kong continues to break barriers with its format.

And, this is the sort of post for which very few members care, unless they have a sense of humor. I can see one member excited about this. Let’s see how long it takes for him to chime in😎.

My last King Kong was 2021. I hope to participate this year.

I've updated the initial post with the list of promoters who have already confirmed they'll be hosting a venue. I'm particularly excited that a King Kong venue is being held in Vermont for the first time!

Ah Ha! I am pretty sure you have your Medicare Card now, right Robert?

Just to be clear, same event, but offered to compete in many locations?  Winners tallied from each location for overall placing?  Sorry, its been a while since Ive been in the grip game.

Also, I'm familiar with the events but the Finnish Ball.  Looks like there are several diameters, which one will be used for this comp?

Your understanding of the contest format is correct. There will likely be 300+ competitors worldwide. The original 1 1/2” version of the Finnish Ball is used.

I know we’re on opposite sides now, but it’d be cool to meet up for a comp again, buddy.

PS: easy on the geezer fat jokes 😂

I think if you want the UK competitors involved, you'd be better off reaching out to Tom Lymath from Gods of Grip.

Havent been in the game for a few years, now - David was the only UK (Mobster as well) that I remember.  I have several UK training buddies that would probably compete.  Be cool if Tom would host it.

David is retired from competing and even before that, I don't think he liked participating in others' competitions.  Tom Lymath has a really good thing going with Gods of Grip and the UK Grip League.
