Another Find: 1993 Stainless Steel CoC 1, 2, 3 Grippers

I was fortunate enough to find these as part of a listing. I could see the black spring and clear band in the listing’s pictures. They arrived today and I weighed them and tried a magnet. They’re 1 lb, 1.05 lb, and 1.10 lb - over twice the weight of their modern equivalents. Also, a magnet (my Massenomics Drink Spotter Lite) stuck to them. So I’m happy to say I’ve got the 1993 Stainless Steel CoCs! Next up, I’ll be sending these off to @Cannon to be rated.

Awesome find!

Be sure to post what they end up rating - I'm curious to know how they compare to todays versions.

To me they look they have a marginally more shallow mounting.

What as great find!
Interesting that the handles are magnetic. Means the stainless CoCs are from martensitic stainless, because the usual grade 303, 304, 316 are only very slightly magnetic (a normal magnet won't stick to them).

How is the knurling compared to modern CoCs?

I think they were 80, 118, 143.

Interesting. Pretty stout #2.

What a great find! My old gym had 1, 2, 3, and 4, 95' iirc.

Been trying to find who to talk to about buying them and replacing them with a newer set
