hellswindstaff
In my time on the gripboard, I've notice that what is mostly spoken about is specialized grip work; open hand position(fingers), closed hand position(fingers), and singular planar wrist movements... but doesn't the entire lower arm typically work in unison when grabbing an object outside of the gym? What are some multi-planar lower arm exercises that could be used for the development of maximal strength below the elbow? All of the movements using muscles below the elbow: - Finger flexion - Finger extension - Finger adduction - Finger abduction - Thumb opposition - Pinky opposition - Wrist flexion - Wrist extension - Radial deviation - Ulnar deviation - Forearm pronation - Forearm supination You can really combine these in an endless amount of ways with all sorts of equpiment
Climber028
Most arm wrestlimg exercises are multiplaner, and a good amount of sledgehammer feats are as well that would be a good first start. Odd object lifting and of course steel bending will give some very unique angles that are difficult to replicate or isolate otherwise. hellswindstaff
The main movement I was thinking was looping a towel threw a kettlebell, which seems like the most convenient implement for this, and grabbing the towel so that the load is offset in relation to the thumb side OR pinky side of the hand AND doing standard and odd movements like this. I feel this would be more general than sledge hammer movements. I'm calling for us to compile a list of general lower arm strengthening exercises on this thread... if no one else replies... I'm going to be doing some digging for information. Is Denis Cyplenkov on this gripboard? I think he would have the best answers!

hellswindstaff
Last post for now... I swear... I have seen Adam Glass has repeatedly posted about arm lifting. Though is seems obvious now, I didn't actually realize until just now how grip dominant that sport actually is. I would love to hear his thoughts on this matter as well. I'm going to DM him. Like an Acromegaly amount of them. Edited January 21, 2023 by DevilErik
