I would say 3-6 sets of 8-12 reps.
hellswindstaff
Don't forget that most of grip training is isometric so include timed holds 30secs-1min x 2-3 sets is a good place to start
Paul Savage
This isn't really the right question to ask, it's how much time should i be doing each set for that you should want to know, which i would say for mass is around 45 seconds (30-60). In terms of reps it would completely depend on what you are doing due to range of motion, 20 reps on a gripper is very different than a 20 rep on a deadlift for example.
