Digdogz
I was looking into getting a PDA Choker Collar to help me with the closure part of things, when looking at the website they say unless you buy a load of things the S&H will be virtually the same as the cost of the beasty, as I am in the UK. This was no use to me and so I set my mind to thinking.... What I came up with was very thin, very strong waxed string that I, with the help of my brother, used around the handle of my hardest gripper to hold it in place, not only does it hold it there. There is also not a problem with the string being there. I would recommend this to any one before they spend dollars on a collar as I can already see the progress. It cost me less than 5pence and is still wrapped round a week later. Digz.

stephen aish
i use thick black cable ties-one can hold a 240 shut no problem and you just force close the gripper to slide it off after so it can be re-used. total cost £0 -my student got me a bag of 200 dont keep your string/cable tie on or your gripper will mess up big time-remove it after use! stephen Edited October 28, 2003 by stephen aish

Rick Browne
OK Question to all...Will leaving the string on somehow damage mt gripper over time?? 'Cos it may be cheap but it ain't easy to do every day! Dogz. I posed this question to John Szimanski from PDA about a year and a half ago. I wanted to choke down a a #3 and #4. He said to his thinking, that no, it would not damage the springs. Being torsion springs that it should not cause problems. I modified the retaining wire from a cheapy store gripper to fit the 3 and 4. I left it on the #4 for 6 mos. After removing the wire I noticed no detrimental effects to the 4. It is as strong as it was before I placed the wire to it. Same for the #3. So do your own test and see the outcome This post is not intended to convince anyone to do this to their grippers. I am just stating the effects it had to my grippers. I have purchased a PDA choker and it is a by far superior to anything I have tried though. Great tool the Choker
