EricMilfeld
Does anyone know if wrist curl performance is effected by using a straight bar, as opposed to an olympic bar? I wouldn't think that rotating sleeves would affect the amount of weight one could curl. If no advantage is gained, I'd like to allow the use of a straight bar in the GGBash III. OldGuy
Not sure what you mean Eric. Are you talking about a non revolving straight bar, or perhaps an EZ bar as opposed to a 7' revolving Olympic?

Roark
An olympic bar is easier because of the rotation. If an exercise bar is used and the plates locked down tightly, it is more difficult to begin the rep, but once momentum gets going it becomes easier to complete the rep. The the grip board rules an olumpic bar must be used in order to qualify in the 200, 250, or 300 class.
EricMilfeld
Thanks Joe. Since the olympic bar is easier, I'll allow the use of a fixed bar in the GG Bash III. Edited October 27, 2003 by EricMilfeld
