gerryg
The Beef Builder Master and the Captains of Crush#2 have the same wire size .260 but the BB Master is rated @155lbs. and the CofC#2@195lbs.How can this be?I am looking for a gripper that is between the CofC#1 and CofC#2.Should I buy the BB Master or the BB super Advanced? Patrik_F
I dunno about the Super Advanced cause I dont have one, but the Master should be between the #1 and #2. Forget about the listings and ratings.
OldGuy
I only pay attention to wire size. Not perfect, but probably the most reliable indicator. It works for me.
OldGuy
I would buy the BB super advanced, and then the BB master. Good luck.

Think this idea over.... Get a PDA 0.243 unassembled SOS gripper. With this gripper you can set the depth of the spring in the handles to get a range between the #1 and 2. COC #1s will have a wire diameter from 0.235 to 0.243. With PDAs unassembled 0.243 you can bury the spring legs deep to make it tougher or find a range that you like. The PDA 0.243 comes with the 2 handles and the spring (3 seperate parts). after you insert the spring in the handles you can slide it up and down to find the best depth to make it fall between your 1 and 2. Mark the depth and then JB Weld the legs in the handle and let it cure for 24 hours
OldGuy
Brilliant enough to have been thought of by myself.
Rick Browne
OldGuy, I only try to think like you would on some subjects (cough cough) Actually, I was waiting for ya to burst that bubble... POP! Also, I helped an overseas Gboard member get a Super Advance through me and in my opinion it was only slightly harder than my #1s The BBMs are biased closer to the 2s in my opinion. So I figured PDAs unassembled .243 would give a better variable for what gerryg is looking for
Sybersnott
OldGuy... would you happen to know the wire size of an Elite? (built by Tetting). I have grown tired of my Tetting Elites and have to move up now - so I'll need something bigger than a typical Elite spring.
OldGuy
Mine is .
RSW
My BBSA is much closer to a #1 then a #2, and my BBM is still considerably easier then my #2. I would buy the BBM to train for the #2.
