We bent 40d nails, 60d nails, pole barn spikes, HRS, CRS, CRSP(Cold Rolled Steel Platinum). We decided to try and race. Congratulations Smitty on taking the checkered flag. Jedd, do you normally bend holding the nail up high like that? Or was that just an example of your showmanship? I just started using a towel for bending, and since then, it has been a lot easier. If I bend forward at all during my inital bend, I have a tendency to pull the muscles in the back of my neck. Jedd Johnson Posted October 13, 2003 Share Posted October 13, 2003 Not at all brah! They might be a few cents more expensive per 36" bar. There's a story behind the platinum bars, too, by the way. I had been carrying one 6" length of the CRSP in my bag. I originally put a slight bend in it back when we still wrapped with the leather strap and tried to bend over the interphalangeal joint of the thumb, but could never finish it. So it lay in my bag since roughly July with only a kink in it and I think this might have done by bending it over my leg. I used to really struggle at bending. Then, two Saturdays ago, in a bending frenzy, I started finishing off all kinds of already torqued rods, and came upon the elusive CRSP 6" spike. I wrapped that bi*** in a towel and took for a ride down devil's backbone. A real mental victory for me. Then next day we had to make a run to Lowe's for spike supplies, and we purchased some of this stock too. Now it's pretty simple.
