Based off of my experience with #3 grippers, I would say the ones at Ricks contest were both opposite extremes. Tommy's is definitely hard but the other one was easy, judging by the three #3's that I have. While one of the three I could close consistantly [the one I certified with], the other two I could not. I would call the other two average and the one I certified with slightly below. The one sitting on the counter at York I would call slightly above average. Would anyone agree?

My cert #3 was seasoned and calibrated by PDA at 411 IP. Now to some people on this forum, that might sound very easy. But to me, it's a tough gripper.

Count me as clueless. My #3 is one of only two I've ever touched. :(

Does this mean you paid PDA to close your gripper a bunch of times for you?

Having only toyed with 2 #3's it's hard for me to be all that accurate. Both of them are about the same though. Thus can only conclude that I certified with an average strength #3. Barring of course the possability that both could be on either end of the spectrum.
