Rogo
Before the COVID hit I had planned on hosting a steel bending and breaking contest in Phoenix, AZ this year in November, but COVID put everything on hold. This following year I plan to move forward with hosting it in November. The rationale being that: 1. This would be a subordinate/regional competition to Don's steel bending and breaking championship in Michigan. 2. Offer an opportunity for people to compete in the Western part of the US if travel to Michigan is too much 3. Be far enough apart that it doesn't interfere with people wanting to do both competitions 4. The weather is nice in Phoenix in November. Tentative events I had planed are: 1. Unbraced double overhand, single pads, 10 degree minimum for bend to be scored. (3 attempts) 2. Mid length bars (14"-30") flat stock (2 attempts) 3. Horseshoe to finish (3 attempts) 4. 12" spike snap, as many as possible in 40 minutes If enough people, I'd like to have a novice division for those who've never done competitive steel bending. This topic is for people to express their interest in attending so I can gauge if it will be held and how much steel I will need to get. Tom Flesher
I’m definitely interested in attending. I’d love to see an additional competition and would support it however I could.
