Squeezus
I couldn't find an answer to this elsewhere, so here it goes... Why are IMPs only folded into thirds? I haven't tried it, but it stands to reason that you might be able to get more leverage if you folded them into quarters. The wrap would be thicker, right? Is there a rule against it?

No rule against it per Ironmind. And imo, if you can find a way to gain leverage with the wraps only, I think it’s fair game.
wobbler
I've also thought about that, but never tried it. My hands aren't that big and I put my index fingers on the bar, so it seems like a shorter wrap length would work for me.
KRC
IMO there is an advantage/leverage gained by gripping the length of the pad not on the bar. So, with thirds vs quarters, what you sacrifice in thickness, you make up with leverage. YMMV.

Squeezus
I tried folding the IMPs into quarters and bent few pieces of drill rod. It definitely makes for a stiffer and thicker wrap, but about 1/3 shorter so that is a drawback. I could barely feel the nail through the wrap and it seemed to provide more leverage on the kink. The sweep felt about the same and the crush was more difficult and awkward. I'd like to see others' thoughts on this.

wobbler
I usually get stuck at 90* (kink is stronger than crush) so don't think this would help me. Harder to crush with bigger wraps.
David_wigren
The triple wraps always worked best for me. I need that extra bit to create more torque on the bar. I place the ends of the wraps at the base of my pinkie fingers and purposely squeeze the end of the wraps with my pinkie fingers at the start of the “hit” while my elbows are high. As I move my elbows down to initiate the hit, the wrap will want to pull away from my where I’m squeezing it with my pinkies. The squeeze hinders it from pulling away and the force will transfer a few extra kg’s of torque on the bar. It’s not much, but it’s more than what I get from the extra padding gained from the quadruple fold.
